Hudson's 'three-quarter' length portrait, of about 1759, shows him in the robes he wore when he succeeded his father to the Irish peerage as Earl of Egmont in 1748. Although wrongly dated, the inscription on the painting records his later promotion to the English House of Lords as 'Baron Lovell and Holland'.
