The portrait is an early 19th century copy taken from the whole length painting at Blickling Hall in Norfolk, her father's family seat. The sitter is dressed in what is probably a masquerade costume. More detailed information on this portrait is available in a National Portrait Gallery collection catalogue, John Kerslake's Early Georgian Portraits (1977, out of print).
