Alma Reville (1900-1982) was an editor's assistant in films from the early 1920s, and worked as script girl on Hitchcock's debut film, The Pleasure Garden. They married in 1926 and she subsequently collaborated as screen writer on many of his films including The 39 Steps and The Lady Vanishes.
