Hello,
Do you know that the original or a copy of this painting is in the collection of the Palace of Westminster ref. WOA 3641. In a book that Augustus Clifford wrote in 1862 he says that there is a portrait of himself by Say hanging at his home, Westfield House in Ryde on the Isle of Wight, which is probably the original of this. I've contacted the Palace of Westminster as I am not sure they know who the artist of their portrait is. Augustus has a Wikipedia entry that also uses this portrait. You also have a photo of Augustus taken in Ryde where he lived.
Regards,
Jeff Scovell
