In 1990, writing for the Daily Telegraph, Farson was invited by the artists to accompany them to the opening of their exhibition in Moscow, curated by James Birch. Operating as one artist, Gilbert Proesch (b.1943) and George Passmore (1942) have worked together since they met in the 1960s when they were both studying at St Martin's School of Art, London. Farson recalled, 'Our meeting was extraordinarily lucky for me. As one grows older, life tends to shrink, though I try to stretch it with new experience. Gilbert & George gave me this opportunity.'
