This photograph depicts a group activity with artist and educator Roy Ascott. Ascott established his famous Groundcourse, in which first year art students were asked to engage in activities and exercises which challenged their preconceptions. In the year of this photograph, Ascott's The Construction of Change was published, his first text to define his concept of art as a behavioural process, rather than focusing on the finished artwork.
