This is the Rev Canon James Slade (1783–1860), Vicar of Bolton, Lancs, for 39 years, and a highly active and generous local churchman; the Canon Slade School he founded at Bolton in 1855 thrives today. Yours is a smaller (or cut-down) version of this full-length mezzotint of 1840: https://www.britishmuseum.org/collection/object/P_1931-1211-72. The original painting by George Patten of 1839 on which it's based was exhibited at the RA the same year, and is still in the possession of the School.
