Fred Daniels was one of the first British film-stills photographers and was recruited by E A Dupont, the director of Piccadilly to take stills and portraits for the films publicity. Another portrait of Anna May appears on the cover of the recent BFI reissue of the film. Daniels continued his career in film into the 1940s and also took celebrated photographs of the dancer Margaret Morris and her company.
