The Boer War coincided with the collecting craze for stereo cards. Various companies issued sets of of cards that documented the various campaigns and personalities. The cards were intended to be looked at with a special viewer that provided a convincing three-dimensional record of life on the other side of the world. Baden-Powell is here decorated with an Ashanti Star ribbon and British South Africa Company Medal.
