The head closely resembles that of Kneller’s Coronation portrait of 1702-03. Other signed examples are in the Royal Collection, [1] at Rosenborg Castle (1726) dated 1705, [2] and on permanent loan to the Mauritshuis from the Rijksmuseum (A4299). [3] Another was sold Sotheby’s, 25 November 1974, lot 22, dated 1710.
