This plaster cast is closely related to the marble bust of Grant by Miss Grant, exhibited RA, 1866 (878), and presented by her to the Royal Academy in 1876. Miss Grant was the niece of the sitter. Another smaller bust by Miss Grant is also in the Royal Academy.
