A woodcut by C. D. Mitton, after the painting, was published 1882 (example in NPG), for Legends and Lyrics: a book of Verses by Adelaide Procter (1882 edition). The NPG picture was bequeathed at the same time as the portrait of Bryan Procter (see NPG 788).

Pale complexion, greenish eyes, brown hair. Dressed in a black costume, trimmed with red, and with red tassels, wearing various gold rings. Background colour brown.

Bryan Procter, the sitter's father, bequeathed by his widow, Mrs Anne Procter, 1888.
