William C. Lukis (ed.), ‘The family memoirs of the Rev. William Stukeley, M.D. and the antiquarian and other correspondece of William Stukeley, Roger & Samuel Gale, etc.. Vol. I’ in The Publications of the Surtees Society, vol. 73, publ. 1882, p. 60, consecutive entries in William Stukeley's diary for 1720, “7 June. I sat to Sr. Godfrey Kneller for my pictures. Sr. Ia. Newton came in to see his picture finished designed for Mr. Cassini. 11 June. Ld. Nottingham had his face taken 3 different ways in order for a bust.”
