This enlarged contact sheet shows Bailey (b.1938) with his then assistant, Swannell (b.1946) who had joined his studio in 1969. Other important sessions in which Swannell assisted Bailey appear in the book Goodbye Baby and Amen (1969).
This assisted self-portrait was taken in 1971, after a session photographing the Milan fashion collections for Italian Vogue.

The United Kingdom changes to the Decimal System for currency, getting rid of shillings, and guineas and simplifying the denomination of pounds into 100 pence. This brought the British pound sterling in line with other currencies and made computer calculation easier.
