This nineteenth-century print is after Johnson's 1631 portrait of his longstanding client, Charles I's Lord Keeper, Thomas, 1st Baron Coventry. Johnson's final painted portrait of Coventry, which is dated 1639, is also in the collection. In both portraits, Johnson portrays Coventry in parliamentary robes, with his hand on the bag of the Keeper's Great Seal.
