A series of five paintings showing Charles II's dramatic escape after the Battle of Worcester in 1651. They were commissioned after the Restoration in 1660. The portraits show how Charles is guided to two houses, Whiteladies and Boscobel, hides in the Royal Oak and is helped with his eventual escape to France.
