Irving Penn Portraits

Join leading photographers and art historians discussing themes and ideas around the exhibition. Speakers include photographers Paolo Roversi and Bettina Von Zwehl, exhibition curator Magdalene Keaney, Edward Barber, Director of Fashion Photography London, College of Fashion, Virginia Heckert, curator of Irving Penn: Small Trades at the J. Paul Getty Museum, Philippe Garner, International Head of Photography, Christie's and Dr David Anfam, Art historian, critic and curator.

Workshop
Studio Portraits inspired by Irving Penn
Saturday 27 or Sunday 28 March, 10.30-16.30
Join photographer Anthony Luvera for a one-day workshop. Using digital cameras the day will include entry to the exhibition and practical demonstrations on studio portraiture including lighting, pose and use of space. Luvera's photography has appeared in a wide range of publications and he has exhibited internationally.

Three-day Workshop: Beyond the Face
Wednesday 17 – Friday 19 February, 11.00 – 16.00 dailyFor ages 14 to 21. Explore the exhibition and create a series of portraits focusing on dress, pose and objects to express your personality. Work with photography, text and animation, culminating in a public screening on Friday 19 February at 17.00. Led by artists Marianne Holm Hansen and photographer Tom Wichelow.
