"Looking back at the other images, I chose to work in charcoal to combine the sense of surface of the pencil drawing and tonality of some of the others. I situated myself near a window but also had a light source on in the room and the most evident element of my mirror image was the darker corridor down the center of my face that resulted from these two light sources."
