Free Weekend & Holiday Events for Children and Families
Families are welcome at the Gallery throughout the year. We offer a range of events, activities and workshops to encourage families to explore our exhibitions and collections.
Family Art Workshop
11:30 and 14:30
Third Saturday of every month Family Art Workshops exploring portraits in the Collection, followed by an art activity. Suitable for children 5+ and their carers.
Free ticket required and available on the day one hour before the event starts from the Information Desk in the Ondaatje Wing Main Hall.
Please note workshop places are limited and are allocated on a first-come, first served basis. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. These sessions will last approximately 90 minutes. Places are limited to 20 per session, max 4 tickets per adult.
Storytelling For Families
10:30 and 13:30
Third Saturday of every month. Join our storytellers for monthly drop-in storytelling sessions in the Gallery, inspired by the Collection. Suitable for children aged 3+ and their carers.

Family audio visual guide
Four fun tours in English for young visitors aged 7-11 and their parents or carers. Follow four specially-recorded tours to lead you through the Gallery with amazing facts and stories about the people in the Collection, all making the most of the interactive features of our touch screen players.
