Inspired by The Queen: Art and Image, teachers work with portrait painter Isobel Peachey who will discuss her commissioned portrait of the Queen before exploring a range of painting techniques and approaches with teachers to create an oil painting.

Please note, due to demand and as we wish to extend our CPD offer to as many schools as possible, we ask that teachers select either the Painting CPD workshop or the Silkscreen CPD workshop to book in to. We will accept a maximum of two places per school at each workshop. Bookings are on a first-come, first-serve basis, and we ask that you inform us as soon as possible if you cannot make your selected workshop. Thank you.

Please be aware that to book school/class visits to the both very popular exhibitions, The Queen, Art and Image and Man Ray Portraits, reservations must be made two weeks in advance.

A twilight CPD session especially designed for SEN teachers ways to support them to explore the Gallery’s Collection  and to develop their pupils' visual literacy skills. Particularly suitable for Key Stage 3 and 4 teachers who teach pupils with special educational needs, the session includes an introduction to the Gallery’s offer for Teachers, an introduction to selected works in the Gallery’s Collection and a short practical photography session.
