Meet the Artist: Susan Aldworth

Wednesday 10 July, 11.00-12.00

Suitable for KS3+

Free

A unique opportunity for teachers and students to meet Susan Aldworth whose recent project, The Portrait Anatomised is currently on display in Room 38a.

Produced as part of a commission for Guy’s and St. Thomas’s Hospital in Westminster, the artist has used innovative printmaking processes to depict three individuals with epilepsy.

Expanding a notion of contemporary portraiture, the artist appropriates the illustrative vocabulary of medical science in her innovative printmaking process and in doing so asks how this material corresponds or contrasts with the subject’s sense of self.

Gain free access to the artist through an exclusive presentation, and ask vital questions about the artist’s content, process and approach.

Bring your Secondary and Sixth Form students to meet the artist, learn about their artistic practice and discuss their work.  Students are encouraged to bring their own sketchbook and pencils.

To book your group on to a Meet the Artist session please call 020 7312 2483.
