Introduction
to the Education Department |
 |
Welcome
Learning is
at the heart of the National Portrait Gallery. For nearly 30
years the Gallery has provided activities and resources for visitors
of all ages and abilities. Our active and innovative programmes
explore history, art and photography through portraiture; activities
include direct teaching sessions in the galleries, practical
art and photography workshops for young people in their leisure
time, family activities, adult art workshops and public lectures
and conferences. Most of these services are free. We also produce
a range of supporting resource materials.

workshops, we have developed new activities to meet changing
