Germaine Greer contact sheet

'1969 was a remarkable year, the tale end of the sixties when flower power was changing into glam rock and the Stones played a free concert in Hyde Park after the death of Brian Jones. I recorded that event and Germaine Greer, then an assistant lecturer at Warwick University, who visited my Chelsea studio whilst deep into the final part of her epoch-making treatise The Female Eunch (1970).

Vogue quoted her that year with her slogan based on the premise that women had been conned by men for too long 'Don't just sit there, Get His Job' In this shoot she wasattempting to subvert the bimbo stereotype by a series of extrovert and exaggerated photo poses shown here for the first time, together with my chosen frame portraying her as a beguiling would-be sex goddess.'
