A collection of striking portraits
by Reuters photographers. Images include Diana Princess of Wales
in Angola campaigning against landmines, and an anonymous Afghan
girl lifting her veil following the end of Taliban rule in Kabul.
Monique Villa, SVP, Head of Pictures
at Reuters, said,
"The difference between
Cameron's carefully composed 19th-century portraits and today's
unposed news pictures of women in action is striking. Rather
than projecting a carefully crafted image, these modern pictures
provide a real insight into what drives these amazing women to
challenge the status quo and fight for change."
The four-month display will run
at the National Portrait Gallery alongside Julia Margaret Cameron,
sponsored by Reuters.
