The Black Image
A presentation by Tony Warner of 100 Black Men of London, on
the imagery of African people through history followed by the
film The Black Image (directed by Roddy Megally, 60mins) which
looks at how the European image of African people developed from
their portrayal in 15th century art as noble, sophisticated and
intelligent to the overwhelmingly negative images of later centuries
in painting and film. Narrated by Moira Stuart featuring David
Dabydeen and Richard Hart.

Bluestockings
Participate in a drama-based workshop exploring the exhibition
Brilliant Women: 18th-Century Bluestockings, which will
look at the history of the original 'BluestockingCircle', their
portrayal in portraiture and legacy today. This session is led
by artist Miranda Lopatkin along with Victoria Shaskan from Collectives
Artistes, and is part of Museums and Galleries Month.
