These web pages are designed to enhance the resource pack 'Photographic Portraits' published by the NPG. The pack is designed to support students studying A' Level, BTEC and GNVQ Photography, Art and Media Studies courses and City and Guilds 9231 Portrait module. Includes a poster of 25 portraits by Camille Silvy from the Silvy studio Daybook, art prints of Charles Darwin by Julia Margaret Cameron, The Duke and Duchess of Windsor by Richard Avedon, Lady Bridgett Poulett as 'Arethusa' by Madame Yevonde, Francis Bacon by Bill Brandt and Stuart Hall by Dawoud Bey. Provides an introduction to the history of photographic portraiture and encourages students to explore research and debate key themes and concepts in this art form. The pack also includes suggestions for relevant individual and group photographic assignments.
