REGIONAL PARTNERSHIPS
The National Portrait
Gallery was the first national institution to have a presence
outside of London. The National Portrait Gallery has on display
approximately 300 paintings at three regional partnerships: Bodelwyddan
Castle, Beningborough Hall and Montacute House. |
 |
Montacute
House, Somerset in association with the National Trust
A particularly appropriate and evocative setting for some of
the Gallery's finest 16th and 17th century portraits. |
 |
Beningbrough
Hall, Yorkshire in association with the National Trust
Beningbrough displays a superb range of portraits from the period
from 1688 to 1760. |
 |
Bodelwyddan
Castle, in partnership with Bodelwyddan Castle Trust
Bodelwyddan Castle provides an ideal setting for some of the
Gallery's 19th century portraits. |
| |
At all three venues the displays of portraits
are successfully used as a teaching resource by school groups
and other parties.
