Letter
from Gladstone to G.F. Watts, dated 20 June 1859, cancelling
a sitting because of his commitments.
Dear
Mr Watts,
Unhappily a cabinet at half past three will prevent my coming
to you this afternoon at 4 1/2.
I cannot confidently reckon on any day &
hour
earlier than Thursday at 4.30 - I shall assume that this suits
you unless I hear to the contrary. Unhappily however I can feel
certain of nothing in the present rush of calls upon me, which
includes those of a
(illegible) contest at Oxford.
Believe me
Most truly yours
W. Gladstone

I hope to see you on Thursday morning
