I was born on Nov.16th. 1819 at the Kings Mews* - Charing Cross - my father holding a Clerkship in the Master of the Horse's Dep.! I was educated at King's Coll. London, & my first attempts in drawing & painting were of horses I used to ride. I was very nearly sent as a
