Selected Letters Letter from Frederick Hamilton-Temple-Blackwood, 1st Marquess of Dufferin and Ava to G.F. Watts, dated 6 January 1901, informing the artist that he has been sitting to his former pupil Henrietta Rae.

Private.

Clandeboye,
Ireland.
6th, Decr. 1901.

My dear Watts,
For the sake of old times, I daresay you will be glad to see the outside of the enclosed, but you must not think of reading it, though perhaps it might interest Mrs. Watts.

I have been sitting to an old pupil of yours, Henrietta Rae. She was given the commission by the Ulster Yacht Club, whose flag has been flown by the Shamrocks, No. 1 and 2, and the Club are quite satisfied with her performance.

I don't often trouble you with a letter, but I have never forgotten your many kindnesses.

Yours sincerely,
Dufferin and Ava
