Dear Mr Holmes,
Many thanks for your letter telling me that the portrait of Mr Walter Crane is in your safe keeping for the Nation.

There is no other portrait of Mr Crane by my husband. It was painted in 1891 - begun on August 19th and finished on September 27th. He had six sittings - I mention this because the picture is cited as one of his
