My dear William

The parcel arrived quite safe yesterday and I am glad to hear so good an account of you. I have no doubt the house will be kept alive by such a pair as Teddy & Bobby.
We have had sad weather for some days past - today it has been so bad no one has ventured out. I have had a long sitting of Mrs Pickering but as yet it does not appear satisfactory - she is very difficult - Mr. P is prosperous. I expect a sitting of him tomorrow & and of Mr Dupuis if he can come. Bowel complaints have been very prevalent in this house yesterday I was not very well but today I am quite right again and I think you would say looking as well as when I was at Alderbury. I am sorry to say that Christies letter contains
