Selected Letters Letter from G.M. Watts to J.M. Cameron, undated, giving a negative assessment of her recent photographs.

Dear Mrs Cameron,

I do not (illegible) think any observations of mine upon your Photography are worth quoting but you are perfectly welcome of any service I can render. I may not see Doyle but cannot anticipate that he would object.

The photographs come to hand to day though fine in texture; seem to me to be less good than any you have done for a long time. I can't think you have taken a favourable view of the face of the young lady who poses for Diana, avoid such

arrangements of lines as these. I mean these. & don't put young limbs into such as call forth
* muscular development. Those compositions you sent before these last, are truly great in style & sentiment. We have seen your Boys who seem to be flourishing.

Yours most
sincerely
Signor
