Fragment of letter from the artist George Frederic Watts to Julia Margaret Cameron, undated, assessing Cameron's recent photographs of Alfred Tennyson.
 Letter

'Regarding the seven last photographs of Alfred Tennyson' (annotation by J.M. Cameron)

I think them all very fine especially the profile the three quarter view looking down is exceedingly good but I should have liked it better without the frill, if that can be repeated with only the plain collar it will be a great success. I admire the American's very much.

in great haste for I have a sitter,
Signor
