Laurie Lee
(1914-1997)

Poet and novelist; best known for Cider With Rosie (1959). Lee also worked as a journalist, a scriptwriter and a documentary film maker for the GPO. Other works include As I Walked Out One Midsummer Morning (1969) and I Can't Stay Long (1975) which reflect his time in Spain during the civil war and his rural childhood.
