Allen Jones
(b.1937)

Painter, sculptor and printmaker. Studied at Hornsey Art School (1955-59) and the Royal College of Art (1959-60). An early Pop artist, from the mid 1960s Jones' work was known for fetishistic images including his female figures in the form of furniture pieces . Elected a member of the Royal Academy (1986).

With his Chair, Hat stand and Table sculpture (all 1969).
