Nubar Sarkis Gulbenkian
(1896-1972)

Philanthropist and bon vivant was commercial attach to the Iranian Embassy (1926-51, 1955-56). Seen in his car which was rebuilt by Rolls-Royce on the chassis of a London taxi and a familiar sight around London in the late 50s and early 60s. He is reputed to have said "It turns on a sixpence, whatever that may be".
