National Portrait Gallery Stamp Issue To celebrate the National Portrait Gallery's 150th Anniversary, Royal Mail is issuing a set of ten Special Stamps, featuring ten portraits from the Gallery's Collection. These miniature 'works of art' are reproductions of portraits in a variety of media, from Sir Joshua Reynolds' fine self-portrait painting and the haunting photograph of Virginia Woolf by Beresford, to a beautifully sculptured bust of Sir Walter Scott by Sir Francis Chantrey. |
