George Catlin: American Indian Portraits Wash-ka-mon-ya fridge magnet
Wash-ka-mon-ya, or Fast Dancer, was another of the younger warriors in the group of fourteen Iowa performers who visited London and Paris under the auspices of Catlin and the showman George Melody in 1844 and 1845. In this portrait he displays a distinctive painted marking across his mouth and chin in the shape of a dark green handprint.
