Joanna Trollope is the author of seventeen highly acclaimed, bestselling contemporary novels, the most recent being The Soldiers Wife (2012). She has also written a study of women in the British Empire, Britannias Daughters, and a number of historical novels. She was appointed OBE in 1996 in the Queens Birthday Honours.
