Instantly recognisable by his affected style of speech, actor and comedian Kenneth Williams is perhaps best-known for his roles in more than twenty-two Carry n films, the first of which being hi appearance in carry On Sergeant in 1958. Making his London stage debut in 1952, Williams starred in a production of peter Pan and two years later, he was spotted by radio producer Dennis Main Wilson playing the Dauphin in George Bernard Shaw's St Joan. Williams' highly successful radio shows include Hancock's Half Hour (1955-9), Beyond Our Ken (1958 - 64), Round the Horne (1965-8) and Just a Minute (1968-88).
After starting his career photographing successful actresses of the day, Anthony Buckley spent some time in the 1950s working in Dorothy Wilding's studio, before becoming a royal photographer in the 1960s.
