Visitors' Choice

Every year the BP Portrait Award Visitors’ Choice offers exhibition visitors the opportunity to vote for their favourite portrait in the show. This year 26,439 votes were cast between 23 June and 21 August via screens outside the exhibition and on the website.

The overall winner was The Levinsons by Rupert Alexander which received 1,874 votes. In second place was Honest Thomas by Alan Coulson (1,414 votes) and the third was Delfin by Jesus Maria Saez de Vicuña Ochoa (1,388 votes). All portraits were voted for at least once.

Everyone who voted in the Visitors Choice has the chance to win a Rembrandt Excellent Oil Colour Box Set worth £995 and there will be three runners-up prizes of an Artists’ Oil Colour Bamboo Box Sets worth £100.

Although the winners have been announced, you can still cast your vote for your favourite portrait and enter the prize draw until the exhibition closes on 24 September.
