People of Today: Faces of Wales

The National Photographic Portrait Commission led by Amgueddfa Cymru - National Museum Wales in conjunction with the National Portrait Gallery is celebrated with this display of six contemporary Welsh figures. Commissioned photographs by the 2008 winning photographers Sam Mason, Zac Mead and Dafydd Bland are shown alongside leading photographers selected in 2007 ; Huw Davies, Anastasia Taylor-Lind and Amelia Kilvington.

Set up in 2005 the commission is open to recent graduates, who are taking steps to establish themselves professionally. Each year up to three winners are commissioned. The sitters, Connie Fisher, Sian Lloyd, John Humphrys, Ryan Giggs, Michael Sheen and Rhodri Morgan, from the diverse fields of politics, sport and the arts have connections with Wales and have excelled in their particular field.
