Bridget Riley is widely celebrated for her compelling abstract paintings which engage with colour, line, space and implied movement. This display focused on an important aspect of her art which had not been previously exhibited.

Comprising early drawings from life, it featured portraits of the artist’s family, friends and models. Bridget Riley Portraits illuminated the roots of her mature work, emphasising the role of drawing and the importance she has always placed on observation.
