Writer and historian Ian Foster examines freed slave Ayuba Suleiman Diallo’s time in London and his relationship with Sir Hans Sloane.

Ian Foster has recently completed a biography of Sir Hans Sloane, in which Ayuba Suleiman Diallo plays a significant role and contributes to a greater understanding of Sloane and his experience. He has written articles and lectured on Sloane in Jamaica and in this country at the Royal Society, Royal College of Physicians, Worshipful Society of Apothecaries, Natural History Museum, Chelsea Society and the Royal Society of Chemistry.
