Caroline Amelia Elizabeth of Brunswick
by Sir Thomas Lawrence
NPG 244

The marriage of Caroline of Brunswick and George IV is perhaps one of the most disastrous unions in British Royal history. Separated just a few weeks after their wedding ceremony, George IV tried to divorce Caroline after the death of his father, culminating in one of the most scandalous court cases of the 19th century. Talk led by Alex Dennis.
