The East End has traditionally been a culturally diverse and vibrant part of London; one which has produced a number of major artists whose work has reflected their 'outsider' status. Contemporary art thrives in this area continuing its reputation as a creative cauldron.
This walk will focus on the artists who have links with the area. From the Jewish East End of the twentieth century we will see places associated with artists and writers such as Mark Gertler and Isaac Rosenberg, some of the most famous architecture of the area including Nicholas Hawksmoor's Christchurch Spitalfields, and experience the thriving community of today.
