Emmeline Pankhurst was a British political activist and leader of the British suffragette movement which helped women win the right to vote. Campaigning for women’s rights from an early age, she was the founder of the Women’s Social and Political Union (WSPU) and later played a vital role in urging women to aid industrial production during the First World War.
