Explore Elizabethan London with Blue Badge Guide Alan Read. The walk will finish at the Globe on the Southbank. Booking essential.
This walk examines how modern London was shaped by the Elizabethan people who worked in trade, the legal profession and the theatre. The tour will visit several of the Inns of Court (including Middle Temple and Lincoln’s Inn) where barristers practice to this day. Sir Francis Drake’s Golden Hinde represents how England’s sea power brought prosperity to the nation and the walk will end at the reconstructed Globe theatre, for many people a defining image of Elizabethan London.
Please note that there are no interior visits on this walk.
Alan Read is a London Blue Badge and City of London guide and regularly lectures for NADFAS and the Dulwich Picture Gallery.
