Biographer and novelist. Margaret Forster studied History at
Somerville College Oxford. Her books include the novels Georgy Girl
(1965), The Memory Box (1999), Over (2007); the memoirs Hidden Lives
(1995) and Precious Lives (1998); and biographies of Elizabeth Barrett
Browning (1998) and Daphne du Maurier (1993). Forster’s new book Isa
and May is published on 2 February 2010.
Joanne O’Brien was a
member of Format Photographers Picture Agency whose work is being
celebrated in a new display in Room 38a (21 January - 11 July 2010).
O’Brien’s portraiture and reportage has been widely published; her
books have chronicled the lives of people in Ireland and Britain:
Across the Water (1988) and A Matter of Minutes (2002).
